Accounts Receivable Manager
Location: Rainham, Essex
(Hybrid - 4 days office-based Monday-Thursday, Friday working from home)
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee billing, accounts receivable, payroll administration, and support monthly financial close activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and taking ownership of key financial processes within Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities / Reporting & Reconciliations
- Support monthly close procedures and maintain billing systems.
- Generate invoices and customer account statements.
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Produce regular and ad-hoc financial reports and analysis.
- Track, investigate, and resolve outstanding payments.
- Manage billing and accounts receivable activities.
- Administer monthly payroll processes.
- Oversee debt collection activities and customer follow-ups.
- Process and reconcile banking transactions.
- Identify and escalate potential bad debt exposures.
- Ensure financial records are accurate and maintained in line with company procedures.
About You - Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience within Accounts Receivable or Credit Control.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive, proactive approach with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable communicating with customers, suppliers, depots, and internal stakeholders.
- Must be within a commutable distance of the Rainham office.
- Full right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available for this role).
Desirable Experience
Experience with any of the following systems would be advantageous:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
- BACS payment services
- COUPA or SAP customer systems
- ADP Payroll
- SWIFT or similar finance systems
