Administrative & Communications Assistant

Part-Time - 12 Hours per week

Location: Folkestone, Kent

Fixed Contract until March 2027

A respected community organisation based in Folkestone is seeking a proactive and well‑organised Administrative & Communications Assistant to support its busy project and office team. This rewarding role combines administration, coordination, and digital communication, helping ensure smooth operations and effective engagement with service users, staff, and wider stakeholders.

Please note that a valid driver's licence is required for this role.

About the Role:

You will play a key part in keeping the organisation's administrative and communication processes running efficiently. This includes maintaining accurate records, supporting internal coordination, and helping to manage online communication channels such as the website and social media. The role will suit someone who is organised, confident with digital tools, and able to adapt within a supportive, community‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the team and senior staff.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential digital records and data systems.
  • Assist with online filing, document organisation, and general office duties.
  • Manage and update website content and social media posts.
  • Support recruitment processes, including DBS checks and policy monitoring.
  • Prepare newsletters, reports, minutes, posters, and other publicity materials.
  • Assist with meetings, events, and hospitality for visitors.
  • Coordinate communication effectively with colleagues through clear task lists and updates.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and confidentiality standards.
  • Maintain office supplies and assist with promotional content.

About You:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently when needed.
  • High attention to detail and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Previous administrative or communications experience (paid or voluntary).
