Technical Services Manager (EASA Part 145) - Stansted

Technical Services Manager required to lead this Technical Services function at Stansted. You'll be responsible for ensuring all Technical Services outputs meet EASA Part 145 requirements, the company MOE and supporting procedures. Your focus will be on delivering accurate, high-quality documentation on time-enabling safe, efficient maintenance activity and meeting Part CAMO airworthiness expectations.

This is a hands-on leadership role with accountability for work package quality, release documentation, effective planning and strong customer communication.

Key duties

  • Manage and develop the Technical Services team, including day-to-day resourcing, performance feedback and departmental administration.
  • Deliver on-time, high-standard engineering work packages for the Engineering department and release documentation for Part CAMO customers.
  • Ensure materials are requested accurately and to schedule in support of Purchasing and Stores.
  • Maintain, review and improve Technical Services procedures and instructions to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Allocate projects across Technical Services Engineers (TSEs) to balance workload and maintain continuity.
  • Drive improvements to planning systems, processes and material flow to support production requirements.
  • Maintain a consistently high standard of communication with customers to protect service levels and customer experience.
  • Ensure the IPR process is completed correctly and consistently.
  • Control the review and update of technical publications and MTLs when OEM revisions are issued.
  • Lead continuous improvement activity to improve quality, reduce delays and control costs.
  • Oversee Part 145 work reports and technical records administration.
  • Attend manpower planning reviews and actively contribute to management and safety forums.
  • Step in as a TSE when operationally required.
  • Promote and enforce Health, Safety, Technical and Quality standards, ensuring hazards/risks are addressed and corrective actions completed on time.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as directed.

Authority

  • Set departmental priorities and monitor delivery against objectives.
  • Apply disciplinary processes within the Technical Services team where required.
  • Request support from other departments.
  • Recommend training needs and propose procedure updates.

What we're looking for

  • Degree-level qualification (ideally technical) or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable experience leading resources/teams within a technical environment (aviation/MRO strongly preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of controlled documentation and compliance-led processes (Part 145 / MOE context).
  • Confident, professional communicator with strong customer-facing skills.
  • Advanced IT skills, especially Excel and standard Windows applications.
  • Highly organised, analytical and able to prioritise effectively in a time-critical environment.
  • Discreet and trustworthy-able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Willing to complete and pass all mandatory training and assessments relevant to the role.
