Building Management System (BMS) Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Building Management System Engineer to join a technical team responsible for the operation, maintenance and development of facility control systems. The successful candidate will be experienced with BMS platforms and proven in configuring, commissioning and fault-finding on Trend and Tridium systems.

Key responsibilities

Install, configure and commission BMS controllers, field devices and associated networks.

Program, modify and troubleshoot Trend and Tridium (Niagara) systems to meet building operational requirements.

Perform preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and corrective repairs on BMS hardware and software.

Monitor system performance, tune control strategies and implement energy-saving measures.

Produce clear technical documentation, wiring diagrams, site reports and commissioning records.

Provide on-site and remote support to building services and facilities teams, including planned works and emergency response.

Collaborate with HVAC, electrical and maintenance teams during upgrades, refurbishments and new builds.

Essential skills and experience

Proven hands-on experience working with Building Management Systems.

Practical experience configuring and programming Trend and Tridium (Niagara) BMS platforms.

Strong fault-finding skills for controllers, I/O, networks and field devices.

Understanding of HVAC plant, sensors, actuators, valves, pumps and control loops.

Ability to produce technical documentation and clear commissioning/test reports.

Full UK/EU driving licence (or equivalent) or ability to travel between sites as required.

Qualifications

Electrical, building services, control systems or similar technical qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ, apprenticeship or degree).

Manufacturer or platform-specific training/certification in Trend and Tridium is highly desirable.

Personal attributes

Methodical, proactive and safety conscious with strong attention to detail.

Good communicator able to work with multi-disciplinary teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Comfortable working independently and managing priorities across multiple sites.
