CAD/CAM Programmer / Operator

  • Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Salary Guide to £45,000 PA, DOE + Overtime at time and a half
  • Location: Sawtry - Huntingdon area - Own transport recommended due to location
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours
  • Typical hours: 6.30am - 2.30pm or 8.00am - 4.30pm - Flexible start/finish times

We are looking for a skilled CAD/CAM Programmer / Operator to join our clients skilled team. If you possess a strong background in CAD/CAM Programming, alongside hands-on experience with 3 to 5 axis CNC machinery, then we want to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement CAD/CAM software to create precise and efficient toolpaths.
  • Program and operate 3 - 5-axis CNC milling machine utilising the Siemens controller to produce high-quality components.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure specifications and project requirements are met.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues promptly.
  • Maintain equipment and perform regular inspections to ensure optimum performance.

Key Experience Required:

  • CAD/CAM Programming.
  • Autodesk Fusion PowerMill, OneCNC, SolidWorks or similar.
  • Demonstrable experience setting and operating 3 - 5 axis CNC machinery.
  • Strong proficiency in Siemens, Fanuc or similar Controls.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings.

Qualifications:

  • A recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller with strong expertise in 3-5 Axis machining.
  • Able to identify tooling and working methods to operate machine competently.
  • Good knowledge of machine shop practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
