Job Title: Category Manager
Permanent Part Time position - 27 hours per week
Salary: £26,000 per annum (pro-rata salary for 27 hours per week)

About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Category Manager to oversee multiple product ranges. This is a hands-on role combining strategy, supplier relationships, and creativity, helping deliver product ranges that customers love while reflecting ethical and sustainable values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage product ranges from sourcing to launch, ensuring they meet customer needs and business goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, and promotions
  • Set and review pricing and margins to balance competitiveness, profitability, and brand values
  • Monitor sales, stock, and performance data to make informed decisions on product selection, promotions, and range adjustments
  • Develop seasonal layouts, promotional displays, and in-store presentation to enhance the customer experience
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver smooth execution and consistent standards
  • Stay informed on industry trends, customer preferences, and sustainability practices to guide category decisions
  • Champion ethical, sustainable, and responsible sourcing throughout all decisions

Who You Are

  • Experience in a Category Manager, Buyer, or similar role within, food retail, consumer goods or grocery.
  • Strong commercial skills, confident in pricing, margins, and supplier negotiations
  • Data-driven and able to make independent decisions
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Passion for food, sustainability, and ethical retail is highly desirable
