Temporary Chef - £18.00 per hour | 08:30-16:00 | CT3 (Canterbury)
We're recruiting an experienced Temporary Chef to support a busy kitchen on a temp/shift basis. You'll be preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard while maintaining excellent food hygiene and supporting service during peak periods. Due to the remote location, you must have your own vehicle.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook and present meals to menu specs and portion controls
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and personal presentation
- Follow recipes, manage prep and stock rotation (FIFO)
- Work efficiently under pressure during service
- Support ordering/receiving and basic stock checks when required
- Assist with clean-down and close, ensuring equipment is stored correctly
Essential & Desirable Requirements:
- Essential: Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene
- Essential: Commercial kitchen experience as a Chef/Cook; strong allergen awareness
- Essential: Flexible to cover shifts as needed (including weekends where required)
- Desirable: Experience across hot service, buffet and plated service; good knife skills
Pay & hours: £18.00 p/h (dependent on experience) | Core shift 08:30-16:00, with hours varying by booking.
