Senior CNC/CAM Programmer and Machinist with workshop supervisor responsibilities, producing small-batch and one-off components for the Aerospace and Automotive industries. You will offline cad/cam program, set and operate multi-axis CNC mills, supervise a small team of staff, and as part of the senior team support the production manager and ensure quality is maintained in the workshop.
Key responsibilities:
Offline cad/cam Programme 3 and 5-axis CNC mills.
Set and operate CNC machines for small-batch and one-off components.
Supervise and support machinists, setters and operators on the shop floor.
Interpret engineering drawings and select tools, speeds and feeds.
Work with a wide range of metals and other materials.
Basic inspection and quality checks on parts produced.
Skills & experience:
Senior CNC/CAM programmer, setter and operator background.
Proven experience supervising or aptitude and desire to leading a small engineering/machining team.
Strong 3-axis and 3+2 / 5-axis programming skills.
Offline CAD/ CAM experience (specific software cross training can be given).
Familiar with Heidenhain and Fanuc controls.
Good understanding of engineering drawings, speeds/feeds and tooling.
Experience with die and mould tooling(desirable).
