Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Site Manager -

Location: Cavan, Ireland
Reporting to: Site Management

Role overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Site Manager to lead the overall direction of EH&S on site. You will manage safety and environmental activities in line with group and regulatory requirements, ensuring full compliance and driving continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and EPA licence requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for audits, regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice and support to management and employees on all EH&S matters, with a strong focus on accident prevention, hazard identification and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, implement and maintain robust EH&S policies and procedures aligned to local regulations, industry best practice and company objectives.
  • Ensure personnel understand and meet their responsibilities for environmental and safety controls and reporting; deliver training as required.
  • Manage an EH&S audit and surveillance programme to evaluate conformance to internal policies/procedures and local regulatory requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions and implement preventive measures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to set EH&S goals, objectives and performance metrics and deliver strategies to achieve them.
  • Partner with senior management and wider health & safety teams to create and deliver action plans to address non-conformances and deficiencies.
  • Maintain an effective EH&S programme to meet legislative and corporate requirements, supporting compliance and systems audits aligned to ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 / ISO 37301.

Qualifications / Education / Experience

Essential:

  • Degree in health & safety, environmental (or related) discipline.
  • Experience managing IE licensed facilities and dealing with the EPA.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience working as an EHS Manager.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Beneficial:

  • Experience working on IE licence applications.
  • Experience working with waste licences.

Skills / Key characteristics

  • Excellent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and support practical implementation.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of site-wide EH&S activity.
