CNC Turner (FANUC) - Programmer / Setter / Operator

Location: Brentwood area, Essex

Salary guide: £39,000-£42,000 per annum + Overtime at time and a half

Working a 4-day week - Monday to Thursday

We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner who can program using FANUC controls and confidently set and operate CNC lathes to produce high-quality components to drawing and tight tolerances.

The role:

You will take ownership of jobs from programme creation and prove-out through to production, inspection, and continuous improvement, ensuring high quality standards and efficient lead times.

The work will primarily involve small batch production, including one-offs and two-offs etc.

Key responsibilities:

  • Program CNC lathes using FANUC controls (at the machine).
  • Set, operate and adjust CNC turning centres.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerance requirements.
  • Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection using measuring equipment.
  • Identify and resolve machining issues (surface finish, tool wear, accuracy, cycle times).
  • Maintain production documentation and follow quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement and maintain excellent housekeeping/5S.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner with FANUC programming (essential).
  • Strong setting/operating capability on CNC lathes (essential).
  • Confident working to tight tolerances; methodical approach to quality.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking a job through from start to finish.

Hours: 07:00-17:15, Monday to Thursday (4 days / 39 hours/week)

Overtime: time and a half, when available

Salary guide: £39,000-£42,000 per annum (DOE)
