Overview
An established, fast growing professional services organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the finance function and drive commercial performance. This is a senior role with responsibility for strategic financial planning, operational financial management, and partnership with the executive team to deliver sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and contribute to overall business strategy.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and long range financial planning processes.
  • Oversee management and statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong financial controls, risk management and governance frameworks.
  • Drive margin improvement, pricing strategy and commercial decision making across the business.
  • Lead and develop a high performing finance team; set objectives, mentor and build capability.
  • Partner with practice leaders and operational teams to translate financial insight into actionable plans.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, treasury and banking relationships.
  • Lead or support M&A activity, due diligence and integration as required.
  • Implement and optimise finance systems, processes and automation to improve efficiency and data quality.


Essential experience and qualifications

  • Significant senior finance experience within the professional services sector (this is a mandatory requirement).
  • Proven track record in a leadership role (e.g., Finance Director, Head of Finance) with responsibility for a multi discipline finance function.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent).
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax considerations and regulatory requirements relevant to professional services.
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen and experience partnering with senior stakeholders to drive business performance.
  • Experience of leading change, finance transformation and ERP/financial system implementations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills.
