HRGO Recruitment are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our clients team. This role is essential for ensuring that the public spaces are well-maintained, safe, and presented to a high standard for the community to enjoy.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in carrying out essential ground's maintenance work across our client's sites.
General Duties:
Lead, support, and motivate 1-2 grounds maintenance operatives on site.
Carry out and oversee a wide range of grounds maintenance tasks, including:
Grass cutting (ride-on and pedestrian mowers)
Strimming, hedge cutting, and shrub bed maintenance
Line marking, weed spraying, leaf clearing, and litter picking
Plan and allocate daily tasks, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Ensure parks, open spaces, and recreational areas are clean, tidy, and well maintained.
Communicate with clients on site when required and provide excellent customer service.
Inspect and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment, promoting safe working practices and reporting any faults.
Work with other teams to complete maintenance projects and site improvements.
Requirements:
Previous experience leading or supervising a grounds maintenance team.
Full UK driving licence
Skilled in the safe operation of a range of grounds maintenance equipment.
Good knowledge of grounds maintenance practices.
PA1 & PA6 certificates and horticultural qualifications are advantageous.
Ability to carry out physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
