Group Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced Group Team Leader to join a busy manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will lead a small team on the shop floor, ensuring safe, efficient production of sheet metal and fabricated products while meeting quality and output targets.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead, coach and motivate a team of operators to achieve daily production targets and maintain high standards of quality and safety

- Plan and allocate work, monitor progress and adjust resources to meet deadlines

- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and production procedures

- Train and develop team members, carry out performance reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives

- Troubleshoot production issues, support first-line technical fixes and liaise with maintenance/engineering as required

- Monitor inventory of materials and report shortages or non-conformances

- Maintain accurate production records and contribute to shift handovers

Required skills and experience:

- Previous manufacturing/production experience, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role

- Hands-on experience with sheet metal or fabricated products and an understanding of production processes for these items

- Strong leadership and communication skills, able to motivate and manage a diverse team

- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

- Basic numeracy and the ability to read production drawings and specifications

- Commitment to health & safety and quality standards

Desirable:

- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies

- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with fabrication tooling and equipment
