💷 Overtime: £22.53 per hour after 48 hours per week

📄 Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Hours: 5 days per week, 10-12 hours per day, 6:30am starts. Weekend availability required.

HRGO Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Grading Technology to join our client in Chartham, Canterbury.

This is a fantastic temporary-to-permanent opportunity for someone with experience working with grading machinery who is confident leading a team and managing day-to-day operations. You'll play an important role in improving productivity, quality, performance and the overall efficiency of the grading department.

🚜 Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day grading operations and ensure the department runs efficiently.
  • Monitor grade-outs, fruit recovery, quality and grader performance.
  • Lead, support and coach the grading team to achieve daily targets.
  • Work closely with Planning, Quality Control and Engineering teams.
  • Liaise with external companies to improve grader performance and resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure grading targets and production plans are achieved.
  • Coordinate servicing and maintenance of grading equipment.
  • Monitor KPIs and support continuous improvement across the department.
  • Ensure all paperwork, records and staff hours are completed accurately.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, food safety, hygiene and BRC compliance.

✅ Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with graders - essential.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Food safety awareness.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to use your own initiative.
  • Previous management experience is desirable.
  • Experience within fresh produce, packing or agriculture would be advantageous.
  • A driving licence is not essential, but your own transport would be advantageous due to the location.
