Installation & Service Manager (Hands-On)
UK-based | Full-time | In-person | Frequent international travel

Hands-on manager required to lead a team of c.6 Installation Technicians delivering high-spec shielding rooms/enclosures and complex engineered systems to research/medical/academic sites worldwide.

Key duties

  • Lead, coach and resource the installation team across multiple projects
  • Lead and support on-site installation, commissioning, snagging and handover
  • Interpret engineering drawings/3D CAD; resolve issues with internal engineering teams
  • Manage client expectations on-site (meetings, updates, handovers)
  • Ensure H&S compliance, RAMS and high-quality finishes; drive process improvements

Essential

  • 5-7 years' experience supervising a technical/installation team
  • Strong hands-on installation/engineering/construction background; confident with tools
  • Able to read drawings/CAD; strong problem-solving under pressure
  • Excellent communication; organised; customer-facing professionalism
  • Full driving licence + valid passport; willing to work away with all expenses paid/flexible hours

Desirable

  • Mechanical/electrical installation, precision assembly/sheet metal
  • Cleanroom/lab installs; HVAC/electrical integration; sealing/finishing
  • H&S/risk assessment knowledge; CSCS (preferably Black)
