Instrument Pipe Fitter - Gas Infrastructure Projects
Salary: £19 - £22 per hour (dependent on experience) + overtime + company van + benefits
Location: UK Wide (based from Speke, Liverpool with nationwide travel)

HRGO Recruitment is supporting a leading organisation within the gas infrastructure sector to appoint an experienced Instrument Pipe Fitter.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established EC&I team delivering projects across the UK gas transmission and distribution network.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and supporting the commissioning of instrument tubing systems and associated equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and in line with engineering requirements.
The Role:
Working as part of a wider project team, you will:
- Install and assemble small-bore stainless-steel tubing systems for instrumentation applications.
- Manufacture, route and fit tubing systems using approved installation techniques.
- Complete instrument installations including manifolds, transmitters, gauges and associated equipment.
- Carry out tubing preparation including cutting, bending, flaring and compression fitting.
- Interpret technical drawings including P&IDs, isometric drawings and instrument documentation.
- Support testing activities including pressure and leak testing.
- Assist commissioning teams with instrument hook-ups and project completion activities.
- Ensure all work meets client specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
- Complete relevant installation records and project documentation.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors and site teams.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and safe working practices.
- Travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays where required.
The candidate:
You will have previous experience working as an Instrument Pipe Fitter within environments such as gas transmission, utilities, oil & gas, petrochemical or similar industries.
You will also have:
- Proven experience installing small-bore stainless-steel instrumentation tubing.
- Ability to understand and work from engineering drawings and P&IDs.
- Experience using compression fitting systems such as Swagelok, Parker or similar.
- A strong understanding of site safety requirements and permit-controlled environments.
- A flexible approach with the ability to work away from home when required.
- A full UK driving licence.
Qualifications & Training
- CCNSG Safety Passport or ECS Card.
- EUSR registration.
- SCO Core (Gas Industry).
- COMPEX qualification.
- IPAF and PASMA.
- Manual Handling and Working at Height training.
- First Aid qualification.
- Swagelok training or certification.
