Kitchen Assistant
We are recruiting an experienced Kitchen Assistant to join a busy kitchen team. This is a hands-on role focused on general pot wash duties, goods-in responsibilities and general kitchen support. Ideal for a reliable, hard-working individual with previous kitchen assistant experience.
Key responsibilities:
Cleaning and dishwashing of utensils to a high standard, including use of industrial washing equipment
Receive, check and sign for deliveries (goods in), inspect items for quality and quantity
Store and rotate stock, ensure correct labelling and safe storage practices
Assist chefs with basic food prep and cleaning tasks as required
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards, including washing down equipment and surfaces
Follow health & safety and food hygiene procedures at all times
Dispose of waste correctly and help with recycling and stock checks
Candidates must have the below skills and experience:
- Previous Kitchen Assistant experience
- Proven experience with pot wash/dishwashing duties
- Experience handling goods in and managing deliveries/stock
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift supplies
Hours are Monday to Friday 10am to 7pm, it is a very busy, fast paced kitchen environment. This is temporary work with an immediate start.
