Job Title: Packaging Machine Operative
Location: Edenbridge
Working Hours: Initially 09:00-16:30 during the training period. With opportunities for paid overtime.

HRGO Recruitment are seeking a hardworking and reliable Packaging Machine Operative to join their friendly and dynamic Digital Print team. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced Production Minders and receive comprehensive training on gluing and cut & crease machinery, with opportunities for further development over time.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving manufacturing environment and is keen to develop their skills within the digital packaging industry.

Main Duties:

  • Feed and pack products on the gluing line.

  • Operate and run the gluing line.

  • Strip pallets of work-in-progress (WIP) following cutting and creasing.

  • Operate the die-cutting machine.

  • Pre-cut stock to size using a guillotine when required.

  • Cut samples using the automated CAD table for customer samples and mock-ups.

  • Hand-glue samples and small-quantity jobs.

  • Carry out pallet wrapping and strapping for products being despatched.

  • Complete quality checks on finished products within QA.

  • Print and apply case labels to jobs being despatched.

  • Organise cutting dies within the designated racking.

  • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly machine maintenance checks as required.

  • Communicate with the office when problems arise or additional support is required.

  • Maintain general tidiness throughout the production area, washroom and mezzanine.

  • Support other areas of the business when required.

  • Work efficiently to meet production deadlines and maintain high standards of quality.

  • Follow all relevant company procedures and health and safety requirements.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or packaging environment is required.

  • Previous experience in commercial digital print would be advantageous but is not essential.

  • Enthusiastic with a positive "can do" attitude.

  • Ambitious and eager to learn new skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Ability to work efficiently to deadlines and manage time effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to think quickly and react appropriately in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

  • Confident using a PC and basic computer systems.

Training & Development:

  • Full training will be provided alongside experienced Production Minders.

  • Initial working hours during training will be 09:00-16:30.

  • Training will cover the operation of gluing and cut & crease machinery, along with other finishing processes.

  • Ongoing opportunities for development and progression will be available.

  • Additional paid overtime opportunities may be available to meet business requirements.
