HRGO Recruitment are supporting an established manufacturing business in recruiting a proactive Material Planner / Purchaser to support production continuity and manage day to day purchasing activities within a fast-paced operational environment.

This role will focus on material planning, supplier coordination, inventory management, and procurement administration, ensuring materials are available to meet production demands while balancing stock levels and cost control.

The role:

  • Manage raw material and packaging stock levels to support manufacturing demand
  • Run MRP and purchasing activities using SAP
  • Raise and manage purchase orders, monitor deliveries, and resolve supply issues
  • Proactively manage supplier deliveries, lead times, and material shortages to minimise production risk
  • Maintain accurate inventory, planning, and master data records within SAP
  • Support inventory accuracy through stock control, cycle counts, and variance investigation
  • Investigate stock variances and support stock control activities
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to support production schedules and operational priorities
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal teams across operations, warehouse, finance, and production
  • Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives across the supply chain function

The candidate:

  • Previous experience in material planning, purchasing, or supply chain within manufacturing
  • Strong SAP and MRP experience
  • Good understanding of inventory control and supplier management
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Knowledge of import/export processes or inventory optimisation projects
