Mechanical Assembler - (Electro-Mechanical)

We are recruiting a Mechanical Assembler to join a well-established UK engineering manufacturer. This workshop-based role involves building special-purpose machines and modules, assembling electro-mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies and components, working from engineering drawings and detailed work instructions to produce high-quality engineered equipment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build special-purpose machines and modules, assembling electro-mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies and components (motors, gearboxes, bearings, sensors, actuators, wiring looms, control panels) to specification.
  • Fabricate/assemble various components using hand and power tools
  • Metal finishing, including deburring/linishing as required
  • Marking out, drilling and tapping to meet specification
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and accurately
  • Carry out wiring tasks including cable routing, termination and loom work
  • Perform crimping and soldering of connections to the required standard
  • Read, interpret and follow engineering drawings, instructions and checklists to meet specifications
  • Complete basic quality checks, report faults, and support rework where required
  • Maintain good housekeeping and follow health & safety procedures at all times

Required skills & experience:

  • Proven experience in electro-mechanical / electromechanical assembly (manufacturing environment)
  • Confident with hand tools and power tools (fabrication/bench fitting experience is beneficial)
  • Practical wiring experience including crimping and soldering
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings/work instructions with strong attention to detail
