Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Dartford

Salary: up to £40,000

Experience in SOLIDWORKS Composer is essential.

We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to kickstart their career in design engineering.

What You'll Be Doing:

You'll spend approximately 70% of your time developing concept designs and the remaining 30% focused on design modifications and improvements. While the role is primarily office-based, you'll also conduct occasional client site visits to oversee product installations at the final stages of each project.

On a daily basis, you'll manage a mix of projects-typically leading one main project while supporting several smaller ones. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing initial concept ideas
  • Producing 3D models predominantly with some 2D design work
  • Creating detailed parts drawings
  • Sourcing and ordering components from suppliers
  • Supporting prototyping and testing phases
  • Handing over designs to production
  • Preparing technical manuals
  • Participating in on-site installations at client locations
  • Creating technical documentation

  • Occasional international travel required to sign off installations

  • Experience SolidWorks composer for rendering and assembly documentation is a requirement

Experience

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • A strong knowledge and experience using SolidWorks Composer
  • Previous works in sheet metal/fabrication
  • Ideally have experience with cradle to grave project management
