Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Near Lockerbie, (Fully on-site)
Shift: 4 on / 4 off, rotating day and night shifts
Pay: £18.75 per hour
The Role
HRGO Recruitment is excited to be recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a well-run manufacturing site near Lockerbie. Here, your mechanical skills will directly impact output and reliability. You'll handle reactive breakdowns and planned maintenance, working in a supportive engineering team with a strong safety and continuous improvement culture.
Key Duties
- Rapid response fault-finding and repair to minimise downtime
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and inspections to schedule
- Maintain/repair conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, drives and rotating equipment
- Work on pneumatic and hydraulic systems (diagnosis, repair, safe isolation)
- Carry out mechanical fitting, alignment, replacements and basic fabrication as needed
- Complete job cards/CMMS updates and support root cause analysis (RCA)
What We're Looking For (Essential)
- Mechanical apprenticeship (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Mechanical Maintenance/Engineering
- Recent experience in manufacturing/industrial mechanical maintenance
- Confident fault-finding on mechanical systems and rotating machinery
- Good H&S mindset (LOTO / safe systems of work)
- Able to work rotating days/nights on a 4 on / 4 off rota
