HRGO Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a global manufacturer with UK production and R&D operations based in Dumfries.
We're looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to lead maintenance activities on site, ensuring high equipment reliability and safety. We would love to hear from candidates who hold previous engineering supervisory experience or experienced engineers who wish to take the next step in their career!
Key responsibilities:
Lead, organise and supervise mechanical maintenance tasks on production and site services equipment
Plan and deliver reactive, proactive, preventative and predictive maintenance to minimise downtime
Carry out fault-finding and implement robust, long-term solutions to mechanical issues
Ensure all work follows safe systems of work, risk assessments and SHE policies, meeting statutory requirements
Coordinate and oversee contractors as required, ensuring quality and safety standards are met
Work closely with production, engineering and other on-site teams to prioritise maintenance work
Maintain accurate maintenance records and support use of any Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Contribute to continuous improvement activities and engineering projects on site
Provide flexible support outside normal working hours when required (e.g. breakdowns, shutdowns, projects)
Key requirements:
Completed recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience maintaining mechanical plant in a manufacturing/industrial environment
Strong understanding of maintenance processes, planning and coordination
Knowledge of health, safety and environmental policies and safe systems of work
Flexible to support site outside normal working hours when required
