Merchandiser

Location: Crewe

Salary: £40,000-45,000 per annum (pro rata)

Contract: Fixed term until 30 April 2027

HR GO Recruitment is recruiting for a commercially minded Merchandiser to join a growing eCommerce business on a fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical individual to help drive sales, improve profitability and optimise stock investment.

The Role

    • Develop and manage sales, margin and stock forecasts across product categories.
    • Analyse trading performance to identify opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
    • Create merchandise plans aligned with business objectives and budgets.
    • Work with Marketing and Trading teams on pricing, promotions and stock requirements.
    • Oversee demand planning, replenishment and stock availability, ensuring inventory meets customer demand.
    • Monitor stock levels, turnover and aged inventory to minimise excess stock and protect availability.
    • Manage and support an Inventory Planner, setting priorities for stock requirements and replenishment.
    • Collaborate with Product teams on range development, new product launches and lifecycle performance.
    • Produce regular reports on sales, margins, stock performance and forecast accuracy.
    • Work with Finance and Operations to improve inventory investment, working capital and stock distribution.

The Candidate

    • Previous experience in merchandising, merchandise planning or a similar commercial planning role.
    • Ideally experienced within a retail or eCommerce environment.
    • Strong commercial awareness, with a good understanding of sales, gross margin and profitability.
    • Experience in demand forecasting, stock management and inventory optimisation.
    • Advanced Excel skills and confidence analysing large datasets.
    • Ability to interpret data and turn insights into practical commercial decisions.
    • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
    • Comfortable working collaboratively across Product, Marketing, Finance and Operations.
    • Experience managing or mentoring team members would be advantageous.
    • A proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
