MIG Welder/Fabricator - Scunthorpe

We are currently recruiting experienced MIG Welder/Fabricators on behalf of our client based in Scunthorpe. Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, they are looking to expand their team with immediate starts available, offering the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful qualifying period.

The Role

As a MIG Welder/Fabricator, your duties will include:

  • MIG welding and fabricating structural and construction steel
  • Working from detailed engineering drawings to produce high-quality fabrications
  • Measuring, cutting, and assembling steel components
  • Operating workshop equipment, including grinders and OXY cutting machinery
  • Carrying out general workshop duties while maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Assisting with material handling using overhead cranes and forklift trucks (where trained and authorised)

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Previous MIG welding and fabrication experience (ideally 3+ years)
  • Proven experience within the structural steel industry (essential)
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (essential)
  • Confidence using measuring equipment and workshop machinery
  • A reliable work ethic with the ability to work to production deadlines
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required

Applicants with less experience or without welding codings may still be considered, depending on their practical ability and overall skill level.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday
2:00pm - 12:00am

Pay & Benefits

  • £15.00 - £16.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • On-site parking
  • Opportunity to gain a permanent contract after a successful qualifying period

Please note: All successful applicants will be required to complete a weld test prior to commencing employment.
