South Chard (onsite) | 30-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexible)
Salary: £30,000 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

Role overview
We're looking for a highly organised, reliable Office Administrator with HR support responsibilities to join our well-established textiles manufacturing business in South Chard. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting day-to-day office operations and providing administrative support across key HR processes.

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll also provide administrative support to a team of 9 department supervisors, helping keep the office and people processes running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

Office administration

  • Manage general office administration, including correspondence, filing and record keeping

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, phone calls and emails

  • Maintain office supplies and coordinate supplier orders

  • Provide admin support to the General Manager and department supervisors

  • Support production and management teams with day-to-day admin tasks

  • Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of internal systems

HR support (administrative)

  • Assist with recruitment administration (job adverts, interview scheduling, onboarding paperwork)

  • Maintain employee records in line with data protection requirements

  • Support tracking of attendance, holidays and sickness records

  • Assist with inductions, training records and policy updates

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR function

General

  • Follow company procedures and policies and support continuous improvement

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately

What we're looking for

Essential

  • Proven experience in an office-based administrative role

  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Ability to build strong working relationships and work independently as well as part of a team

Desirable

  • Previous HR administration support experience

  • Experience within manufacturing/production

  • Experience supporting multiple stakeholders/departments

  • Basic understanding of HR processes and employment administration
