JOB TITLE: Production Manager
LOCATION: Palnure, Newton Stewart
HOURS: Full-time, Monday to Friday (Approx 4.5 Days)
SALARY: From £45k DOE

HRGO Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for Rowan Glen, a respected leader in the dairy industry, known for their commitment to quality and excellence in food production. Due to continued growth, we are now on the hunt for an experienced production professional who can take on the role as Production Manager to ensure Rowan Glen's success continues and develops.

Position Summary:

The Production Manager will lead a small but mighty production team at our client's food production facility in Palnure, Newton Stewart. This is a pivotal leadership position and involves overseeing the daily operations and ensuring that production lines are not only efficient but also adhere to stringent quality and safety standards.

As a critical member of the senior site team, you will collaborate closely with the Technical & Quality Manager and the Engineering Manager, with direct reporting to the Managing Director. Your leadership will be central to maintaining our commitment to excellence while promoting a positive and engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the daily production operations run seamlessly, consistently meeting established production targets and delivering on quality expectations without compromising safety.
  • Directly manage and coach a production team of approximately 20 employees while promoting a positive and productive working environment that supports teamwork, open communication, and high engagement levels among staff.
  • Uphold and enforce health, safety, hygiene, and food safety protocols across all production areas, ensuring safety and accountability.
  • Work alongside Technical, Engineering, and Planning departments to effectively coordinate activities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure company goals are met.
  • Prioritise continuous training and professional development of the production team. Identify skill gaps and implement training programs to ensure employees can perform their roles to the highest standards.
  • Monitor and analyse production KPIs, and hold daily meetings as well as preparing detailed reports to identify trends and drive actions that will enhance operational performance and efficiency.
  • Actively contribute to site audits and ensure that the facility is always prepared for customer and third-party inspections, maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Required Skills / Qualities:

  • Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within a fast paced production environment, with a strong track record of managing teams effectively.
  • Solutions-Oriented Mindset: Have a proactive and hands-on approach to leadership, identifying issues and implementing effective solutions promptly.

Preferable Skills / Qualities:

  • Compliance Expertise: Experience with maintaining compliance with BRCGS standards, including preparation for and active participation in audits, showcasing an understanding of industry standards and best practices.
