Punch Press - Setter/Operator - Stable Temp-to-Perm (Immediate Starts)
Location: Buntingford, Hertfordshire
Rate guide: £16.00 to £18.00 per hour (depending on experience).
Overtime: Paid at Time & Half
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Shifts (rotating early/late):
- Early: 07:30 - 16:00
- Late: 13:00 - 22:00
Late shift premium: £1.50 per hour for hours worked after 16:00 on the late shift.
HR GO Recruitment is seeking a CNC Punch Press Operator (Setter/Operator) to join a busy production team for a specialist manufacturer, producing high-quality components in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment based in Buntingford.
This is a stable temp-to-perm role with consistent weekday hours, training/development, onsite free parking, and excellent earning potential through overtime and shift premiums.
Key responsibilities:
- Set and operate CNC Punch Press Amada's (including tooling set-up/changeovers and adjustments).
- Work from job sheets/specifications and follow process instructions.
- Complete first-off and in-process quality checks (dimensions, finish, defects).
- Maintain safe working practices and good housekeeping.
- Record output and report faults/quality concerns promptly.
- Work collaboratively to meet production targets and deadlines.
Essential requirements:
- Demonstrable experience setting and operating Punch Press machines (required).
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-first approach.
- Ability to work to deadlines and follow H&S procedures at all times.
- Willingness to work rotating early/late shifts as listed.
Desirable (nice to have):
- Sheet metal / fabrication / manufacturing experience.
- Confident using measuring equipment (e.g., verniers/calipers) and completing quality documentation.
- Basic machine maintenance.
Pay & overtime:
- Rate guide: £16.00 to £18.00 per hour (depending on experience).
- Late shift premium: £1.50 per hour for hours worked after 16:00 on the late shift.
- Overtime paid at time and a half.
Contract type & start:
- Stable temp-to-perm position.
