Role Overview

This role sits within the Quality Department of a plastics manufacturing site supplying exclusively to one customer. The Quality Data Analyst is responsible for monitoring quality and production-related data, identifying trends/risks, maintaining quality system reporting, and producing clear, accurate customer communications (scorecards, KPIs, incident updates and performance packs). Our client is based in the Thurrock area.

The position is predominantly office-based, focused on system monitoring and data analysis, with regular liaison with the Quality Manager and shopfloor Quality Technicians to validate findings and support investigations. Occasional factory floor engagement may be required in the case of investigations etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor quality performance data daily (scrap, rejects, deviations, complaints, yield, downtime quality impacts) and highlight exceptions/risks to the Quality Manager.
  • Produce customer-facing quality reporting packs (weekly/monthly) including KPIs, trends, narrative commentary, and actions.
  • Maintain and improve dashboards and trackers (e.g., Excel/Power BI/QMS reports).
  • Operate internal quality management systems such as Infinity QS or similar
  • Analyse non-conformances and customer complaints to identify recurring themes and root cause hotspots; recommend focus areas.
  • Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) tracking: log actions, chase owners, update status, and evidence closure to deadlines.
  • Support investigations (e.g., internal rejects, customer returns): gather data, coordinate inputs, and prepare structured summaries.
  • Ensure customer-specific quality requirements are reflected in reporting (e.g., format, frequency, definitions, targets, escalation timelines).
  • Maintain quality records within the QMS/ERP (e.g., NCRs, deviations, inspection results, concession history) ensuring accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Quality Technicians to validate data, confirm containment, and align actions.
  • Prepare audit-ready evidence packs for customer queries/audits and support on-site/remote customer meetings as required.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in data quality, reporting automation, and process performance visibility.
  • Uphold confidentiality and secure handling of customer data and sensitive internal performance information.

Required skills & experience (essential)

  • 2+ years in manufacturing/quality data/reporting (or strong graduate).
  • Advanced Excel; confident producing customer reports/updates.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems/terms (e.g., NCR, CAPA, root cause) and manufacturing traceability.
  • Highly accurate, detail-focused; able to spot anomalies in data.

  • Audit support.
