Receptionist and Purchase Ledger Clerk

🕒 Working Hours: 8.50am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
💰 Pay: Dependant on experience

As the Receptionist and Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will…

Be the first point of contact for the company, presenting a professional and courteous manner at all times. Your role will involve answering and directing calls efficiently via a multi-line switchboard, welcoming and assisting visitors, creating a positive first impression and enhancing their experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining smooth office operations.

Your day will include:

📞 Reception & Communication: Answer calls, provide staff availability, forward inquiries, greet visitors, sign them in, offer refreshments, and log deliveries.

📂 Administration & Document Management: Maintain filing systems, scan and retrieve documents, process invoices, handle purchase ledgers, and support managers with admin and IT tasks.

🎓 Staff Support & Training: Book and track staff training, CPCS renewals, NVQs, H&S tests, and arrange weekly staff accommodation.

💰 Financial & Compliance Monitoring: Reconcile Barclaycard statements, manage remittances, track Dart Charge and ULEZ accounts, log vehicle mileage, and oversee first aid supplies.

📦 General Office Duties: Sort and distribute mail, monitor office supplies, record utility meter readings, maintain stockrooms, and complete ad hoc tasks as needed.

What We're Looking For:


📞 Previous Experience: At least one year of Receptionist / similar experience, preferably with multi-line switchboard and Purchase Ledger accounts knowledge.

💻 Software Proficiency: Proficient in Word and Excel; accounts knowledge is beneficial.

📂 Organisation & Confidentiality: Strong organisational skills, proactive mindset, and strict adherence to confidentiality.

🗣️ Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills - clear and effective on the phone, in writing, and in person.
