SERVICE TECHNICIAN - DARTFORD, KENT

Service Technician - OTE £40k+ pa, performance related bonus,

Hours - Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.30pm

Main Purpose of the Job

  • To accurately and skilfully undertake the repair and servicing of motor vehicles, whilst detecting and diagnosing any additional faults for further repairs ensuring all work is completed safety and to the customer's complete satisfaction.
  • To sell service, repairs and parts in order to contribute to the revenue and profit objectives of the dealership.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Correctly interpret job cards, complying with repair instructions and stipulated setting and tolerances from manufacturers manual etc.
  • Write up a description of the work completed ensuring it matches the customer's requirements on the job card. This should include confirmation of the fault, the diagnosis procedure, the repair process and confirmation that the fault has been rectified.
  • Plan, carry out and test all work to the highest and most efficient standard in order to achieve maximum utilisation of available time.
  • Accurately use time clocking device to clock in and out of the workplace and on and off each individual repair.
  • Record all work and seek authorisation for any additional repairs over and above the specified repairs on the job sheet.
  • Ensure vehicle health check and service checklist forms are accurately completed and signed when applicable.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all repairs.
  • Promote the service facilities of the dealership to encourage repeat business for Sales and Aftersales.
  • Achieve the customer satisfaction objectives and ensure that the customer is dealt with professionally adhering to manufacturer's standards and dealership procedures.
  • Undertake other duties requested of you that fall within your capability and scope of your job.
  • Comply with Health & Safety regulations, report any defective equipment or dangerous incidents to the Service Manager. Always act in a safe and professional manner.
  • Wear Company supplied work uniform and safety shoes at all times.
  • Ensure vehicle protection kits are fitted at times (seat cover, floor mats, steering wheel and gear knob covers)
  • Keep working bay and surrounding areas clean and free from clutter.

Ensure safe working and accurate completion of given tasks to an Apprentice.
