HRGO Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established retail organisation for a Store Manager to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Store Manager, Deputy Manager, Team Leader or ambitious retail manager looking to take the next step in their career. Equally, experienced Store Managers seeking a new challenge are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the store, leading and motivating the sales team, driving sales performance against targets and KPIs, and ensuring the highest possible standards of customer service. Previous experience within carpets, flooring or beds retail would be advantageous but is not essential.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the retail store
- Lead, motivate and coach the sales team
- Achieve and exceed store sales targets and KPIs
- Drive sales performance and maximise commercial opportunities
- Deliver consistently high standards of customer service
- Support and coach team members to improve sales performance
- Deal promptly and professionally with customer queries and issues
- Manage staff levels, rotas, holidays and days off effectively
- Identify and support training and development needs
- Maintain high standards of store presentation and cleanliness
- Ensure stock levels and records are accurate and maintained
- Monitor outstanding orders, balances and business performance
- Ensure all company sales and administration procedures are followed
- Ensure company security regulations and controls are adhered to
- Maintain the store environment in line with company standards
- Ensure tickets, point-of-sale materials and graphics are displayed correctly
- Manage and coordinate independent fitter work schedules
- Monitor the standards and quality of work completed by fitters
- Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor and lead by example
- Develop a positive, target-driven sales culture across the store
About You:
- Previous experience as a Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Deputy Manager, Team Leader or similar retail leadership role
- Experience managing, motivating and developing a team
- Strong understanding of the retail sales process
- Experience working towards sales targets and KPIs
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Confident and professional approach to customer service
- Positive, proactive and self-motivated with a strong can-do attitude
- Ability to use initiative and make decisions independently
- Strong commercial awareness and focus on achieving results
- Previous carpets, flooring or beds retail experience is preferred but not essential
- Experience within a target-driven sales environment
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, including weekends
- Full UK driving licence preferred
