Warehouse Supervisor

Location: Canterbury

Overview

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join their growing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and warehouse experience to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising warehouse staff, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining health and safety standards, and supporting the delivery of excellent service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising and supporting warehouse operatives on a daily basis.
  • Coordinating the loading, unloading, storage, and dispatch of goods.
  • Ensuring all warehouse activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitoring productivity and maintaining operational targets.
  • Providing training, guidance, and support to team members.
  • Conducting regular stock checks and assisting with inventory management.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Investigating and resolving any warehouse-related issues.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the warehouse.
  • Liaising with management and other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader, or similar position.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Good understanding of warehouse operations and stock control processes.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Competent IT skills, including experience using warehouse management systems.

Desirable

  • Experience within logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or freight environments.
  • Knowledge of warehouse KPIs and performance management.
