Warehouse Team Leader

Permanent Position

Location: Saffron Walden, Essex

Salary guide: up to £35,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits

Hours: Monday to Friday: 8.00am to 4.30pm - 40 hours per week

A manufacturer supplying specialist technical equipment used in scientific and industrial environments is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to support day-to-day warehouse operations and help drive efficiency, accuracy, and team performance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily warehouse activity: goods in, put-away, picking/packing, dispatch and returns
  • Lead, coach and motivate the small warehouse team to hit service, productivity and accuracy targets
  • Use WMS/ERP to manage stock movements, allocate work, resolve issues and improve processes
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, compliance and Health & Safety across the warehouse
  • Support stock control: cycle counts, investigations, reconciliations and inventory accuracy
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth order flow and on-time dispatch
  • Monitor performance and support training/onboarding of new starters

What we're looking for:

  • Proven warehouse supervisory experience OR a senior warehouse operative ready to step up
  • Experience using a WMS or ERP system and strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel/Outlook/Word)
  • Confident communicator with a practical, calm approach in a fast-paced environment
  • Organised, detail-focused and able to prioritise effectively
