MIG Welder/Fabricator - Scunthorpe

Immediate Starts | Temp to Perm Opportunity | £15.00-£16.00 per Hour

We are currently recruiting experienced MIG Welder/Fabricators for our well-established client based in Scunthorpe. Due to continued business growth and an increasing order book, they are expanding their team and have immediate starts available.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive workshop, with the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful qualifying period.

The Role

As a MIG Welder/Fabricator, your responsibilities will include:

  • MIG welding and fabricating structural and construction steel
  • Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
  • Measuring, cutting, and assembling steel components to specification
  • Operating workshop equipment including grinders and OXY cutting machinery
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment
  • Assisting with material handling using overhead cranes and forklift trucks (where trained and authorised)

Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous MIG welding and fabrication experience (ideally 3+ years)
  • Proven experience working within the structural steel industry (essential)
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (essential)
  • Experience using measuring equipment and workshop machinery
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to meet production deadlines
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required

Applicants with less experience or without welding codings may still be considered, depending on practical ability and overall skill level.

Shift Patterns

We have a range of shifts available:

  • Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm - 12:00am
  • Monday to Friday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Pay & Benefits

  • £15.00-£16.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Immediate starts available

  • Opportunity to secure a permanent contract after a successful qualifying period
  • Overtime opportunities may be available

Please note: All successful applicants will be required to complete a practical weld test prior to commencing employment.
