The Wet Area Supervisor is responsible for ensuring production has the correct stock, packaging, and materials available on time, while maintaining high standards of organisation, hygiene, safety, and efficiency within the wet area. The role involves supervising staff, managing stock rotation and traceability, and supporting smooth production flow in line with business and audit requirements.
Ensure stock rotation is followed at all times (FIFO - oldest stock first unless otherwise specified)
Ensure fruit is used in accordance with production plans
Ensure all stock is correctly labelled and returned with full traceability
Deliver correct stock, packaging, and materials to production lines on time
Monitor stock availability to prevent production downtime
Follow production plans, stock sheets, and minus sheets accurately
Report any stock discrepancies to the Packhouse Manager immediately
Supervise all staff working in the wet area
Ensure staff are productive, organised, and working efficiently
Ensure all staff wear appropriate PPE and follow site procedures
Promote teamwork and ensure staff cover each other when required
Support training and guidance of wet area staff where needed
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene in the wet area and back of west site
Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times
Ensure the wet area is audit-ready at all times
Support internal and external audits as required
Ensure forklift trucks are kept clean and in good working condition
Ensure equipment is used safely and any faults are reported immediately
Maintain an organised, safe, and efficient working environment
Work closely with the Packhouse Manager to ensure resources are in place to meet production needs
Communicate issues clearly and promptly, including stock shortages, discrepancies, or safety concerns
Complete required reports and documentation accurately and on time
This role requires flexibility to support business growth and changing operational needs
Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested to support the needs of the business
Daily scanned stock reports
Production downtime caused by stock availability
Stock sheets and minus sheets accuracy
Weekly production plans adherence
Internal and external audit results
Staff rotas and attendance
Essential:
Good communication skills
Good level of English
Good understanding of basic maths
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to use initiative and work proactively
Flexible and reliable approach to work
Desirable:
Previous experience in a supervisory role
Experience within the fruit, fresh produce, or packhouse environment
Forklift experience (training can be provided if required)
Enthusiastic, confident, and self-motivated
Organised and detail-focused
Calm and professional under pressure
Strong team player with a hands-on approach
