We are currently recruiting for a Woodwork / Saw Operative / Assembly Operative to join a busy production environment on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to become permanent after 12 weeks.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous experience working with wood, timber or within a woodworking/assembly environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for a variety of woodworking and assembly duties, including:
- Measuring and cutting timber accurately
- Operating saws and woodworking machinery
- Using hand and power tools
- Assembling wooden components and structures
- Using drills, nail guns and other workshop equipment
- Reading measurements and working to specifications
- Checking finished products for quality and accuracy
- Manual handling and moving timber and materials
- General production and workshop duties
- Keeping the work area clean, organised and safe
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a woodwork, carpentry, timber or assembly environment
- Experience using saws and woodworking machinery
- Good practical skills and confidence using hand and power tools
- Ability to measure, cut and assemble timber accurately
- Good attention to detail
- A strong work ethic and willingness to work hard
- Good reliability and timekeeping
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous production or manufacturing experience is desirable
You must be able to drive, as the location is not easily accessible by public transport.
Location
The site is approximately:
- 20 minutes from Ashford
- 10 minutes from Hythe/Folkestone
- 25 minutes from Canterbury
