A leading specialist engineering fabrication company in the agriculture sector is seeking a hands‑on Workshop Welding Fabrication Lead to lead day‑to‑day workshop operations and drive quality, safety, and productivity.

This role is ideal for someone looking to step off the tools and move into a leadership position, while still being able to support welding and fabrication duties when required.

The Role

You'll oversee day‑to‑day workflow, scheduling, and resources, mentoring a team of fabricators / welders. You'll ensure high standards across quality and H&S, manage materials and equipment efficiently, and work closely with the design and engineering teams.

You will also assist with hands‑on welding and fabrication tasks when the workload requires it. The role includes light commercial involvement, including supporting quotes, proposals, and attending industry events.

About You

  • Strong background in welding, fabrication & metalwork.
  • Comfortable supporting practical welding and fabrication duties as needed.
  • Knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials, and project timelines.
  • Organised, communicative, and confident in a leadership role.

Desirable

  • Experience in managing workshop teams and processes.
  • Estimating/quoting experience and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Inventor/SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of ISO and best practice workshop procedures.
